PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Legendary R&B singer and Philadelphia native Frankie Beverly. He was 77 years old when he died. His family shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram on Tuesday morning. According to newspaper reports, Beverly, whose real name was Howard Stanley Beverly, died on Monday, September 10. “He lived his life with pure spirit, as he said. And no one has done better for us than him. He lived for his music, family and friends,” the post said.
