Reports: Bills WR DJ Moore suffers AC joint sprain in Buffalo's win over Lions; status up in the air for Week 3 vs. Chargers

DJ Moore’s second game with the Buffalo Bills ended before halftime.

Moore came down hard in the end zone trying to catch a Josh Allen pass during Buffalo's 41-31 win over the Detroit Lions on Thursday night and was ruled out with a shoulder injury.

Head coach Joe Brady had no update on Moore's injury following the game.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Friday morning that Moore is believed to have suffered an AC joint sprain, per sources familiar with the situation. ESPN's Adam Schefter added that while doctors don't consider the injury serious, his status is up in the air for Week 3 versus the Los Angeles Chargers.

With Buffalo rolling and leading, 21-7, Allen threw into the end zone for Moore on second-and-3 from the 6-yard line. Moore attempted to haul in a low pass, smashed his shoulder onto the grass, rolled to his back, and grabbed around the left side of his collarbone.

Moore walked off under his own power to the locker room for X-rays.

It was Moore’s first target of the game, though it wasn’t recorded as one, as the Bills were flagged for offensive holding on the play. He did have a carry for a loss of a yard earlier in the game.

Moore, acquired in an offseason trade from the Chicago Bears, had five receptions for 100 yards and a touchdown in Week 1 against the Houston Texans.

The long-sought No. 1 WR for the Bills, Moore’s health will now be a prevailing concern for the squad heading into a Week 3 matchup with the Chargers.
